Identification needed for Fossil found at isle of sheppy

I found this a few years ago at isle of sheppy and have had it sitting in a cabinet for a while. I believe it is some kind of ear bone but not 100% would anyone be able to identify it

It looks like an iron-oxide concretion, to me, but I could be wrong.

Please, wait other opinions.

It could be glass. but it's very hard to tell from these photos. I have found pieces much like this in NJ creeks. They come from molten drips. But i have no idea why the glass is black.
