we found these up and down the clear creek and looked them up on web and hoping someone will be able to verify that they are spikes.

Welcome to the Forum, @Josh wood! I agree with @Ludwigia - these look like waterworn rocks. The reason you are seeing these rocks as "stegosaurus spikes" is because of pareidolia - the tendency of the brain to read significancy out of insignificant objects. Happy hunting! :)

Hi welcome to the forum.  Sorry like others have said these are geologic.  

Spikes and plates are fairly rare material to find and the plates are typically very fragile and thin.   Typically found in a matrix that keeps them from breaking apart so any surface find around a stream would destroy them.   Most plates have a texture that you can see blood vessels throughout the surface, so they are not smooth.

Youre not going to be finding fossils like that anywhere close to twin lakes.  You're in a volcanic/metamorphic zone and better off looking for gold than fossils.

No bone texture. These are rocks, unfortunately.
