alright folks, what in the heck is this small mass? that is a fibrous "hair" particle that is running through it. I mean? thank you for any consideration given. it was found near the arkansas river at a freshly excavated site.

I'm not seeing the "hair". Can you please point it out? Otherwise I'm not seeing a fossil here, just mineral substance.

Could be a root, but I'm only guessing since I can't see it properly.

Yes, I also see a thin mineral layer seen in profile. I don't see anything fossil.
