Looks to me like another piece of tumbled quartzite. Are you certain your area has fossiliferous outcrops?

  • Het Patel changed the title to A crinoid fossil?

I can see what you are talking about, but I don't think there is any way to distinguish whether it is a fossil or just mineral staining.

Definitely not a crinoid, however.

Cropped and brightened:

It may be a figment of my imagination but is that a piece of a crinoid stem in the dark crevasse on the left side of where  the circle was placed. Maybe take a close up of that "spot".

@tombk @Fossildude19 I looked again and still think it might be a crinoid, so I took a picture of my screen and enlarged it. Let me know what you think, but it looks crinoidal to me.

Hard to say, without more exposed.

I think, it could be a little crinoid stem fragment circled in red.

I have to say I just don’t see it. That doesn’t mean it’s not there. The enlarged image is too blurry for my eyes. Maybe @Het Patelcould take a clear picture of just that area, head on. It may make me see it differently.

Hmmm thanks for the closeup. At first I thought it was coral but the close up pics - nope just a mineral cluster radiating from a central location.
