PaleoOrdo
I wonder what this strange circle can be. The size is 1 cm in diameter, from Upper Ordovician west of Oslo, Norway. Could it be a foram?
Tetradium
That's one weird one! Most of the time when we see cross section fossils its usually yeah yeah cephalopod/bivalve/brachiopod/gastropods but for this one I don't have any answer for the odd projection out of circular. Fossildude19
I think it's impossible to say without it being prepped out. Right now, it is a cross section of some sort of shell material. 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." PaleoOrdo
I agree, the projetion out of the circle is weird, but quite symmetric. It must be some shell, but this kind of shape I never seen before.
LabRatKing
I’m stumped, like the others I agree it is a cross section of something. This one is worthy of a careful exterior prep for sure.
