I wonder what this strange circle can be. The size is 1 cm in diameter, from Upper Ordovician west of Oslo, Norway. Could it be a foram?

That's one weird one! Most of the time when we see cross section fossils its usually yeah yeah cephalopod/bivalve/brachiopod/gastropods but for this one I don't have any answer for the odd projection out of circular.

I think it's impossible to say without it being prepped out.

Right now, it is a cross section of some sort of shell material.  :shrug:

I agree, the projetion out of the circle is weird, but quite symmetric. It must be some shell, but this kind of shape I never seen before.

I’m stumped, like the others I agree it is a cross section of something. This one is worthy of a careful exterior prep for sure.
