garyc
I’ve browsed the extensive photo gallery of @Harry Pristis but had no luck finding a similar bone. I found this on the Brazos River in SE Texas. I’m thinking it’s a carpal from either a proboscidean or eremetherium. Anyone seen this or have an opinion? @fossilus @Uncle Siphuncle @Shellseeker @Lorne Ledger Thanks!

JohnJ
Compare it to a probicedean lunar as a possibility. 1 1 1 The human mind has the ability to believe anything is true. - JJ

Lorne Ledger
Agree Lunar, I am leaning towards Mastodon rather than mammoth 1

They don't have a mammoth lunar to compare.

Woolly Mammoth is illustrated, but Columbian Mammoth is likely similar. @garyc might be better at deciding with an in hand comparison. 6 The human mind has the ability to believe anything is true. - JJ

I see some similarities to both Mammoth and mastodon depending on which angle I am looking at it. This picture makes me think mastodon.
