Mosasaur or croc?

RidgeRunner

Recommended Posts

Found this yesterday in the Ramenessin Brook in NJ.  I'm thinking it could be a mosasaur tooth.  Would appreciate your feedback.  Thanks!2CC4591A-5E9C-4729-AE8A-0F2FDE25F850.thumb.jpeg.4b801a0dac9d87bb6489842c989a942e.jpegEB506F0B-4A5F-4E5B-B1AA-5A7F0239378D.thumb.jpeg.f960941ea9dea5e5361ea15f6b82bbfa.jpeg3F054657-4BE9-4284-9E1C-153ED1ABCA4D.thumb.jpeg.17f9eaf95baed55523ac17d833e3a91e.jpeg4B8C24C2-A2D5-4098-B64E-FA74E26B12FA.thumb.jpeg.e054f04970be9a725a2bc6c2c2f71714.jpeg

Yup, the overall tooth shape conforms to that of a mosasaurine mosasaur, and the shallow and narrow dental cavity clearly set it apart from crocodile. Nice find! :default_clap2:
