Damaged Otodus obliquus tooth

I just obtained a new fossil and tried to take it out of the rock, but in the process I discovered that the root of one of this  tooth was artificially shaped with a chalk-like material.  Moreover, it seems to be squeezed by the stratum, causing the entire crown to be rotated to the left, so I decided not to continue cleaning to avoid the entire specimen from breaking.
(The longest side of this tooth is three inches long.)
