Deflina1
I do not know much about fossils or how to definitively identify one. I found this and it seems like some sort of ancient arthropod. I found it on a rock beach in southern England (Eastbourne). Any help identifying this would be appreciated.
FranzBernhard
Welcome to TFF from Austria! I think, you are having a fracture pattern in a flint nodule. Not a fossil, unfortunately. Franz Bernhard
Rockwood
It is slightly reminiscent of fish regurgitate. Suppose some more fragmentation (big hammer) is in order to have a better look for indications ?
ClearLake
I think there are fossils in there (but not an arthropod). It looks like numerous fragments of shell perhaps.
TqB
It's conchoidally fractured Cretaceous flint, with the white cortex providing fossil-like contrast. Whilst flint is often fossiliferous, I can't see any fossils here. Edited October 9, 2021 by TqB 3 1 Tarquin
abyssunder
I think, I can see bioerosional marks as remnants of geological weathering ( borings of some sort). More pictures, please, from different angles. val horn
I think I would take it to a museum. It almost certainly is just cracked and worn flint, but it is a very good piece to cause pareidolia. From its legs through its abdomen. It deserves a place on a shelf.
