Going to need a little more information, where was this found, do you know the formation? Also pictures with better lighting and a ruler for scale.

Thank you I will do that first thing in the morning also I have no idea where it was found I got it from somebody who gave it to me so I really don't know what area was found in but I'll take some real good pictures in the morning and send them thank you for responding

It looks suspiciously like carving to me. Knowing the size would help. Is it about the size of the classic smoking pipe ?

Do you suppose it could have been used as the internal part of a mold for forming clay pipes ?

It looks metallic to me. But can't be sure without better photos. Have you tried to see if a magnet is attracted to it?
