MeisTravis
From the Pleistocene of Mississippi. It’s definitely a Canine and I’d say Carnivore. I sent the pictures to someone I trust who is very knowledgeable and they said Catamount/Puma. Just looking to see some more input on it, and to let everyone else enjoy it. minnbuckeye
@Shellseeker, I noticed no one helped with a verification on his ID. Thought you might be able to give an opinion now that you are unable to hunt for awhile. Hope healing is going well!!

A 57 mm canine, not as robust as Jaguar or Bear. Fairly straight line from tip to end of root on the labial side, and fairly straight line between enamel and root. Puma concolor. 3 The White Queen ".... in her youth she could believe "six impossible things before breakfast"

Harry Pristis
I remain uncertain as to what animal contributed your tooth. I judged the canines in my puma skull to be about 2.75" long, based on the swelling in the bone. 1 1 http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest

Just to see, in this case is there anything I can do differently to help with identification on something like this. Certainly not to undermine the answer I was given by shellseeker but just to be helpful for those looking at this post. Thanks!
