Bess
Hello, I found this rock in a creek in Hamilton, NJ. The bedrock in this area is mostly Cretaceous, but there are many glacial deposits. The part of the rock that looks like a fossil has a central line and smaller lines coming off of it, which made me think that it could be a conulariid that got there by a glacier (I'm probably wrong). Also, the side that has the fossil-like thing touches the adjacent side at almost a right angle. Can you please identify it? Thank you in advance! Bess
I just realized that the side to the right of the fossil-like part also has little lines going in the same direction as the smaller lines on the first side.

I think you are right. It couldn't take another New England winter.
