looks too quartzose to be bone to me. Let a few other commentators opine though.

Thanks for looking at it. 

 

Was found in a very quartzy area in a parking lot. 

 

The somewhat marrow-like details on the ends prompted me to post a long shot.

Not bone, but a very pretty piece nonetheless. A good indication of spotting bone is the textures on broken ends as well as the outer edge, they have a sort of porous texture. This lacks all the indications of being organic, and appears to be geologic in nature. A very pretty find nonetheless, and the colors are very nice!

I think there's paleocene and maybe miocene not far from Fredricksburg if not right in those steep gullies around town. Have only seen it from I-95 though!
