LindaBW
Can anyone identify any of these bones found by my 7 year old at Wapping pls? We went to look for the gallows at the Prospect of Whitby pub and literally stumbled upon these. She’s very excited to find out what they belonged to and has taken some to school today! We are thinking cow or horse due to sheer size and weight. Thank you ..
Rockwood
Gallows, pub ? I take it this isn't where one pops in for an ale and an execution ? A public beach maybe ?
LindaBW
No unfortunately lol.. 16th Century pub right there though that sells ale on the Thames foreshore. Feels like a beach when the tide has a burst of rushing in !
Rockwood
So it would be safe to assume that they come from the river ? Maybe the river used to have a meat processing establishment on it's banks ?
