Scanning a dinosaurs braincase

Been playing around with the data today.

 

Braincase scan is fantastic. Skull not so good and we will redo in Feb with a more powerful head on the scanner.

 

Heres a slice through the braincase. Note how clear the internal structure of the bone is. Apologies for the picture being poor - that’s my camera

Spent another day at Henry Royce. Trying out a high powered X-ray head on a fossil. 
 

This is a 320KV unit. More power but you risk losing definition of bones especially edges.

 

The scan wasn’t completely successful and it’s being redone.
