Digrr
This was found in SW Ontario along the coast of Lake Huron. It looks trilobite-like, but I’m new to the area and am unaware of fossils in area. I would appreciate any assistance in identifying this. Thank you! Top Trilo
Yep, looks like a trilobite pygidium (tail). Not much of it is left but if anyone can identify it, @Kane can. 3 “If fossils are not "boggling" your mind then you are simply not doing it right” -Ken (digit) "No fossil is garbage, it´s just not completely preserved” -Franz (FranzBernhard) "With hammer in hand, the open horizon of time, and dear friends by my side, what can we not accomplish together?" -Kane (Kane) "We are in a way conquering time, reuniting members of a long lost family" -Quincy (Opabinia Blues) "I loved reading the trip reports, I loved the sharing, I loved the educational aspect, I loved the humor. Kane
It may be too weathered for me to identify with confidence. Perhaps it may be a match with Eldredgeops rana given the location of the material. Along the Lake Huron coast (Ontario's west coast, as those in Bluewater like to say) is an abundant amount of mid-Devonian material that is churned up, which then gets a bit older as one proceeds north past Kincardine. 3 ...How to Philosophize with a Hammer
