Possible dinosaur skin?

Hey there.

So my husband has some land and we have a natural spring creek and we go just about every weekend. I'm always finding fossilized coral and quartz. Arrowheads, etc.

Well, yesterday I stumbled across something that looks to me almost like skin. Hopefully, someone here can help me out .

This resembles the look of drywall mud that was a bit too dried to work up again. I'm afraid the process which produced it may be similar.

I doubt that it is a skin fossil at any rate.

I'll have to agree with Rockwood. My superficial research has just shown me that dinosaur finds in the state are extremely rare, since almost all of the sedimentary rocks come from times either before or after the dinosaurs or when the state was completely under water.

It's not skin, but it is interesting. I would pick it up and keep it.

Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!
