andoran
I purchased this from someone who said it was a Hexagonaria coral found at the Rensselaer Quarry in Indiana and it is covered with a coating of calcite and pyrite crystals. Can anyone verify that this seems to be a correct identification?
TqB
It's pretty but virtually impossible to ID as all the diagnostic features are obscured. Better preserved material from the same locality could suggest an ID. Edited December 22, 2021 by TqB 1 2 Tarquin
andoran
Thank you. I figured that would be the case with this one.
Mark Kmiecik
I'm leaning towards boxwork on this one. Mark. Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!
