Nipponites
Hello, I bought these fossils as Rotuloidea fimbriata, from the Pliocene of Morocco; yesterday I saw some photos of Heliophora orbicularis, and now I have doubts about what species they are. Any ideas? 1.- 2.- Thanks!
Coco
It seems to me that it is Rotuloidea fimbriata. It is thicker and less fragile than Heliophora orbicularis. The first one has "fingers" or "teeth" shorter and rounder than the second (they may be short in the younger H. orbicularis, but they are sharper. It also depends on their conservation). You can’t tell the difference with the position of their periproctus because they’re in the same place. caterpillar
Rotuloidea for me too Heliophora has lacking finger-like projections around the rear part of the test.
