Mini museum of prehistoric animals.

A revisit to my Mini museum of prehistoric animals. Just added a nice metal model of a stegosaurus that MrsR got me for Christmas (she completed it, as she loves making them).

All the fossils here are from Hell Creek except a small bit of dinosaur eggshell from Two Medicine Formation. A lot of the fossils are from winning the Grand Christmas Auction 2017 , it goes to show how much enjoyment I am still getting from this lot.

Top floor

Richardoestesia isosceles , Thescelosaurus tooth, Turtle bones , Montana Croc Teeth Mummified skin Hadrosaur species, from the Low- Upper Cretaceous of Judas River, Montana, USA. With some nice raised ellipsoid scales intact. dinosaur eggshell.

Floor 1

Nanotyrannus lancensis tooth , Tyrannosaurid indet, T-rex tooth and tooth tip, Ceratopsian indet could be triceratops. Myledaphus tooth, Garfish scale and vertebra,

Bottom Floor

Edmontosaurus annectens teeth, toe and finger bones.

Hope you will enjoy this tiny collection in a bell jar.

Happy New Year. Bobby

The combination of the bell, the models, and the fossil pieces is beautiful, and it also takes up little space. :thumbsu:

I have always liked how you display your fossils Bobby! You add just the right amount of accessories to your displays. They add to the overall look without drawing your attention too much away from the fossils themselves. A great balance. Well done!

@RandywI love the vintage science look and this bell jar I found it a skip. The jar is also quite practical it keeps small fossils dust and moisture free. I like my fossil drawers but my Hell Creek collection I wanted to see more of. Cheers Bobby

I was hoping if I could purchase some mammal or bird material from Hell Creek but I don’t know really want to look for  I spotted a cool plant seed that I may order. To get a more round picture under my glass dome.

A couple of new specimens for my mini museum an really cool insect cocoon from the Cretaceous dinosaur beds of Montana. Nicely preserved in ironstone. This adds an insect to the diversity of my collection and now from the same location a cool plant seed. I now need to get myself some mammal and bird stuff.

Thanks mate, to be honest not much room left in the bell jar.  Once it is filled it will be a one in one out situation. :SlapHands:

Thank you

Most of this collection is from winning Frank’s grand Christmas auction for the forum. I have been lucky enough to pick up some other nice bits and bobs. The models MrsR got for me and bell jar I picked out of a dumpster. Yeah I am pretty please with my mini museum.

This is a really lovely, creative way to show off your collection!

Thanks you and it does work. It is way to show off very small items safety and dust free too.

It's a unique, thoughtful display, Bobby.  I've seen insect body fossils from the Hell Creek but I don't think I've seen a cocoon.  I'm wondering if that could be an egg case.
