Is this just geology?

I'm assuming this is just geology, but I wanted to make sure.  I found it in a seasonal creek bed in south central Missouri, USA.  It measures 3 inches by two inches and is a little whiter than the image indicates.  Any help is appreciated.

Thank you.  Never found anything quite like it before.

It looks like a sedimentary deposit showing soft sediment deformation. Consider a southwestern US wash that floods and leaves behind a thin layer of clay. The clay dries out and cracks. A new flood scours out the not yet fully hardened clay layers and deposits them in a heap of semi parallel clay layers. Note the layers are in short sections. The layers show plastic deformation; they are bent.

A landslide can show they same features.

Thank you for the information.  Even though it is undoubtedly just geology, I like it.  I really appreciate the information.
