FossilDAWG
About where in the UK did you find this and the other items you have been posting? They are not fossils, but if we had an idea of the local geology we might be able to offer more specific suggestions. Don

thelivingdead531
I feel this is geological, though very pretty. In quite a lot of prominent places in Essex, the Red Crag sits atop the London Clay. Those areas were once shallow seas, and you would generally find marine fossils (if I’m not mistaken). I’m sure you can find terrestrial fossils of the sorts, but I don’t think you would find skin imprints in these locations.
thelivingdead531
When I lived in England this was a great resource to me. Check it out so you can know what to look for when you go fossil hunting. http://www.discoveringfossils.co.uk/fossil-locations-of-great-britain/

abyssunder
The conchoidal fractures of one end remind me of silex (flint). The outer patterns are close to isotropic crack layering. It could be a concretion/nodule.
