How to uncover more of fossil?

I'm totally new at this, so I'm not experienced on how to uncover more of the fossil from the rock matrix I found it in. If I wanted to see if there was actually a nautiloid (orthoceras) in this rock (see photos), how would I go about digging more of it out to uncover it? What tools do I use? Any suggestions or recommendations? Thanks in advance.

You can save yourself the time on this piece.  It is not a nautiloid.  Most likely it is one of the crazy shaped and fascinating geologic structures formed in Texas Eocene rocks.

As already alluded to elsewhere, orthocone nautiloids had died out long before these sediments were laid down.

I agree, there does not seem to be any nautiloid in there, just a weird rock.
