Happy Fossil Friday everyone!

In today's video offering, I sneak across the border into Texas to hunt for those Texas-sized ammonites, and I met another YouTuber on the way.

One question. Why do you use a wide chisel?

I think a stylus would be more suitable. It's more precise and it penetrates better


Seemed like a good choice at the time.  This was the first time I had to actually excavate something from hard rock.  I'll try both wide and narrow next time and see which one works better.

Yeah, it really is a shame.  The local geology seems to have dissolved just about all of the shells in this layer.
