Looking for ID

Hello all!

We just had a family member pass, and among the items we found, are several pieces like this one. 
Not sure of this one is petrified wood or some sort of fossilized tusk. There are a few more with a very similar "curvature" to them, like this one below.

Beer can for size comparison. 

Any help in identifying them is greatly appreciated.

Not a tusk - no evidence of  Schreger lines.

If these were found in Kentucky, there is a decent chance of them being  trunk or limb casts of Carboniferous aged trees.

We found them inside a property, but do not know the origin of the pieces.  I will post pictures of the other pieces in the next few days, but I will look for the schreger lines. They're also pretty heavy.  This one is at least 40 lbs.
