dmiller9798
New to hunting fossils/shark teeth and found this unknown object, was thinking maybe a tooth or claw but some buddies say maybe bone carved spear tip or something. Found it in a river in southern Alabama with what they tell me is a Eocene formation on the river bank.

digit
Yup. Definitely a sawfish rostral "tooth" (actually a modified dermal denticle). Great find! Cheers. -Ken
dmiller9798
Wow thank y’all so much! Really excited to hear that’s what it is. It’s only my third time getting out hunting for anything so a neat find to me!
