Tucson 2022

I made a whirlwind trip up to Tucson to deliver some prepped fossils and pick up another load of pieces to work on. I spent a day at the show, talking with dealers and drooling over the great fossils. The cherry on top was picking up my new, German engineered, HW-70 airscribe. This thing is amazing. It will blast away matrix at 30 psi and can operate on pressures as low as 3 psi.

I made some great contacts while I was there and I’m going to have some cool stuff coming out of the Global Paleo Services lab in the future. More to come; now I gotta get prepping!

I'm jealous! I definitely have my eye on adding HW to my scribe quiver! Probably sooner than later now that the somewhat equivalent Pferd is being discontinued.

Yah, it's a dream tool with a nightmare price tag. :default_faint:

Oddly enough, my wife didn't even raise an objection to the purchase. I think she's used to the continual purchase of prep tools. Next up, a Crystal Mark abrasive system...

Ooh, a Crystal Mark! The good thing is you can possibly justify it as a business expense for tax purposes, maybe...

Definitely since it is directly related to the activities of my "for profit business". For profit is loosely used here as I'm not making much profit yet. :default_rofl:

I am very jealous!

I was actually thinking about buying the HW-70, but I can not afford one right now. ;) So I decided to purchase the Zoic Chicago, and I am waiting for it to arrive. :egypt:

It's well worth the price tag when you can get one. I've spent a little time behind one and am amazed at the level of precision and the near absence of vibration. It is also much quieter than any scribe I've ever used.
