Sorry. Its not an egg. For one thing the “shell” is waaaaayy too thick. It looks like a concretion to me. Still itd be a cool conversation piece. I’d have picked it up to put in my imposters collection.

I agree - Chert concretion/nodule.

 

No definitive eggshell texture, rind is too thick.

Virtually all "dinosaur eggs" we see here turn out to be concretions. I must say that your "faker" is one of the nicest I've seen in quite a while. As mentioned above, this layered concretion looks to be a highly silicified piece of chert (microcrystalline quartz). It has a really nice polish and interesting surface texture. I'm guessing it spent some time at one point in a river or other watery environment picking up that lovely luster and texture. Not a fossil but a "keeper" nonetheless.

We've all got cool rocks that are not fossils that we find while hunting for actual fossils.
