Mochaccino
Hello, Is this fish fossil real? Listed as Pteronisculus from Madagascar, length 12cm. Any apparent reconstruction or fabrication? And how complete is it? Looks like the tip of the head may be cut off. Thanks. This is a really nice one, from there. Mochaccino
@Fossildude19 @FossilDAWGThanks for the input. What's there does look very nice...also not as fragmented as some other specimens. Very tempting!! Edited February 14, 2022 by Mochaccino
Yoda
Agree with the others above. Nice specimen. I have a few of these Madagascar fish nodules in my collection 1 MotM August 2023 - Eclectic Collector

oilshale
Congrats! The preservation is well above average. To get an even better Pteronisculus could be quite difficult. I have rarely seen fish from Madagascar that have a complete caudal fin. 2 Be not ashamed of mistakes and thus make them crimes (Confucius, 551 BC - 479 BC). Mochaccino
Thanks for the input all. I actually didn't go for this since I'm saving my budget for other things (and the shipping cost was hefty), but congrats to @RJB if you got it!
