It has the general appearance of Rhacophyllum cornutum, but you know how bad my attempts at ID can be.

Interesting! @fifbrindacier I can see the Rhacophyllum general form that Mark suggested but the small elliptical dark coal/staining/outlines make me wonder if that is just coincidental or a remnant of something more important/else.

I unfortunately dont have a better guess though at the moment. Wish it was better preserved! Hoping Jack and the others can nail this form.

I wonder whether this could be a fertile structure of some kind? Say whorls of "cone-like" structures, similar to what you see in some sphenophytes?
