Is this a fossil?

I found this Shells under the dirt, around 200 hundred meters from the sea and more than 13 meters above sea level in the Island of Dominican Republic, I am still cleaning the dirt out of them... I was hoping someone would know more about them and tell me if they are fossiles or not, I think they belong to the gastropods.

I was in a "Marmol mine" close to the ocean and Next to a big wall of rock there was a part with a lot of dirt, brown soil, then I saw the top of one of them, and started digging and found more.

Thank you!

So it was in a marble quarry. Perhaps the snails have been fallen into some kind of crack or carst void.
