Second Skull ID Please

Fancy

Recommended Posts

This is the second of the two skull I cant ID. I am leaning toward canine of some sort. maybe?

I assume this one is also from China considering the matrix still attached looks the same as the larger skull in my other topic.

Any help is appreciated.

Hello,

Maybe Ictitherium? A less specialized (less bonecrushing) hyaena-relative.

Also somewhat restored?

When doing an image search of "gansu fossil" thats what seemed most fitting in my eyes.

Best regards,

J

this one is much more dog-like.  I don't know about hyenas, but these seem to come from the Miocene of china.  No coyotes over there but I am sure there are other dogs.
