At Tanis, scientists studied the remains of three sturgeons and three paddlefish, using in particular high-resolution X-ray tomographic analysis from the Grenoble European Synchrotron (ESRF). They first established that the fish had indeed perished in the seiche episode, which was accompanied by a rain of glass spherules...

The research is described in a paper published Wednesday (Dec. 8) in the journal Scientific Reports.

It's amazing to know the exact season of dinosaur extinction thanks to fossils.

 

I wonder how certain this conclusion is?

Well, its about when the asteroid hit. When the last dino or ammo died is something completely different (northern vs. southern hemisphere etc.).
