Daniel A
Hello everyone I found this stone in the middle of a sandy desert. 60cm long, 15cm wide, very heavy. When I cut it in half, I was very surprised at all these pretty colors. Which kind of stone is it? Any idea?
Daniel A
the inside of the stone is similar to very fine quartzite. I was thinking about petrified logs.
Wrangellian
It's strange, the outside sure looks like a log of wood, but the inside doesn't look like anything more than the quartzite as you say. Are we looking at the outside and inside of the same piece in the 2nd pic? What does the inside of the 1st piece look like (in pic 1)? Edited March 6 by Wrangellian
