TheRocksWillShoutHisGlory
I came back across this fossil after taking another look through my Mazon creek collection. It looks like some type of creature with a preserved trail? I had previously missed it, thinking it was part of plant material that it is associated with. connorp
I'm not sure I see a fossil at all, but it's impossible to say from these pictures. They are not clear.
Mark Kmiecik
Overall it resembles an Essexella asherae to me, and that may be a fold in its skirt. Sometimes E. asherae will show many or all its folds and sometimes only one or two. Of course, it's possible that it is something else completely. I looked at an enlarged image of the specimen, and didn't really come to any conclusions other than this. Do have the counterpart or did it disintegrate? Mark. Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!
flipper559
If anything, I would say Essexella ( jellyfish) as well.
