connorp
Yesterday I took my second trip of the year to do some collecting at Pit 11. A little chilly, but once the sun came out it was a nice day. An idea of how overgrown it is, even this early in the year. The first find of the day A productive hillside A nice handful of concretions I broke my personal record and was able to collect about 3 gallons in the 6 hours I collected. Not many open finds, although I did find this fairly nice Annularia, hopefully a sign of things to come!
Nimravis
Nice report and you found a ton, congrats. Love the Annularia, that and Alethopteris are my favorite flora. Edited March 8, 2022 by Nimravis
deutscheben
Wow, excellent haul! That Annularia is quite good for an open one too. I’m hopeful that I can make one more trip to the park this spring.

If you want some company let me know, I'd be happy to show you around the new areas I've been exploring. Painful hike to get to, but worth it so far.
Mark Kmiecik
Nice haul! Great Annularia for an open one. Did rake around to try finding the other half? Mark. Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!

Outside of one very cold week the nights haven’t dipped far below the 20s, and the buckets have not frozen completely. It’s been a disappointing freeze thaw season for sure.

If only someone would invent a box that got very cold inside . . . . . 1 Mark. Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!
