Weird Spinosaurus tooth

Recommended Posts

Saw this tooth while browsing. Looked so off and maybe entirely reconstructed or fake. Any ideas?

Wait for the answers from the experts. @Troodon
I don't know if I'm right, but it seems that the root area is fine, the shape of the tooth seems correct, but apparently that dark color is paint to hide the lack of enamel and some possible restoration. :headscratch:

Weird indeed.   I would avoid.  Hard to say whats been done to it.  Color is not typical of KK and painted to cover who knows?  The shape toward the tip in your first photo is a bit off so something been done to it.

Only the base of the tooth here looks real. The rest looks terrible.

What I think this might be.... I think that they likely had an ugly looking tooth that lacked most or all of its enamel with there still being some part of the tooth core. They then probably "restored" the enamel part and created this.

Avoid.
