Deb RL
Last week we picked up this tiny gem of a bone. Could it possible be a dinosaur bone? It was found in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Harry Pristis
Welcome to the Forum. Your find is bone, but otherwise unidentifiable. There are no dinosaurs to be found in coastal SC. http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest
Sjfriend
It is bone, appears to be fossilized but would be mammal of some sort and not dinosaur. By size and shape I'd guess leg bone but can't get more than that.
Plax
Mosasaur and Plesiosaur are possibilities. Plenty of Peedee Formation vertebrate fossils in the area. More commonly mammal bone in the surf though. The broken end looks too dense for mammal to me but not sure if dugong parts are all relatively unporous like the ribs. Maybe a sharp close up of the broken end will help our readers.
