jikohr
Hi everyone! I've been going over some small Hell Creek Theropod teeth and this one stood out to me. The serrations on the mesial side are pretty worn but using my microscope I was able to find a few enough remnants to get a measurement. The mesial serrations near the tip were pretty intact as well and I got a similar density there. CH 11 mm CBL 7 mm CBW 2.5 mm 7.3 denticle/mm mesial 7 denticle/mm mesial tip 4.19 denticle/mm distal mesial carina is completely straight, serrations do not extend to base. So what do you all think? Is it Dakotaraptor?

Troodon
Yep I do believe it has the characteristics of a Dakotaraptor tooth. Nice

By the way, do we still think these guys were pack hunters? I just find it hard to believe there were large gangs of these guys given how ridiculously hard it is to find literally anything from them.
Troodon
No idea what kind of hunter it was, all we know about it is a few bones and teeth. You can speculate all you like on these large Dromaeosaurid. The Utahraptor block that is currently under study might help resolve that question
jikohr
Hi everyone! I posted this tooth a few weeks ago and the id came back as Dakotaraptor and as you can imagine I was elated. I recently tried for some better photos and noticed some faint lines along the tooth and now I'm worried it might actually be a large Acheroraptor and the photos I posted the first time just weren't good enough. CH is 11 mm CBL is 7 mm CBW is 2.5 mm Distal serration density is 4.19 per mm mesial serration density ranges from 7.3 (middle) to 7 (tip) per mm and here are the new photos. What do you all think?

Dino Dad 81
I remember noticing that, but thinking it might look consistent with the wear marks. I just posted a tooth for ID with similar optical trickiness (but more with respect to the shape of the mesial carina) and I tried this angle/lighting. Maybe it'd help to get one like this of the ridges:
