Portable Stereoscope

A couple nights ago I could not sleep and I was checking e-mails and saw one from AmScope, a company that I bought a digital microscope from a while back. I saw the below portable stereoscope that was listed for kids, and it had a phone attachment for pictures. Now the last thing that I needed was another stereoscope, I already have 2 nice ones and the digital one, but I thought that this would be nice to have when on vacations. It is small, light weight, has 10x and 20x eye pieces, but the best feature to me is that the light is battery operated, so it is easy to use anywhere.

Here is a picture of a Flexicalymene pygidium that I took pictures of at 10x and 20x, I do not think that it did a bad job. The phone attachment is something that I have to work with to get it right.

That’s really interesting I have to look in this. :thumbsu:

It was about $80.00. I really think it will be nice when I am away from home.

Something must be wrong with my computer screen--I'm not seeing it as a stereo image. :P

Looks like it could be a useful addition to your fossil hunting/imaging gear.

Cheers.

Cool! I just bought myself an Amscope stereoscope. One with a bottom light for viewing amber inclusions. I also got a phone adapter for it, but I might get real microscope camera, eventually. I also just got a little Celestron digital microscope for looking at things on my monitor.

Nice! I actually just bought a stereo microscope from Amscope as well. Now I really want a phone camera adaptor.

I also have an eyepiece digital camera that fits in one of my stereoscopes that does a nice job at capturing images.

I guess they work, I just need to get the hang of using it and might try it out on one of my better stereoscopes, the stereoscope that I got yesterday is more aimed at kids, but it does work very well.
