Tward

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone would be able to help me ID this?

I found it on the coast of the Menai strait on a very rocky beach, between mainland wales and anglesey.

It is 11cm long as seen in the photographs.

Thanks,

Toby

  • Tward changed the title to Welsh coastline find

It is a lovely rugose coral, probably from  Carboniferous period, around 330 million years old.

Yes, a rather nice Early Carboniferous horn coral, maybe something like Dibunophyllum.

Cymru am byth! :)
