I got this baculite in a fossil show. From the Pierre shale of South Dakota. He gave me a handwritten label that I can't tell what it says 100%

Here's a link that might be useful:

Baculites scotti

It's tough to ID many of the Baculites species, especially from a single fragmentary specimen.  However B. scotti is almost completely smooth, it has a very small angle of taper, and the suture line is consistent with your specimen, so the ID seems reasonable to me.

Thanks! What is the age of the Pierre Shale? I know it's Upper Cretaceous, but what stage, Campanian?

Baculites species define a series of biotic zones within the Pierre Shale.  Most of the Pierre Shale is Campanian, but it does range up into the lower Mastrichtian.  However Baculites scotti is middle Campanian.
