Spr
Found on Holden Beach, North Carolina along the shoreline. The beach is currently being dredged and renourished from a couple miles off the coast and it’s possible this item came through the dredges. Has a strange webbing like pattern throughout which is why I kept it. Appears to be pourous and has weight but is not super heavy for its size. Is this just a rock or something else? Fossildude19
Chunk of bone, probably from a marine mammal, but not sure you can narrow it down any further than that. 2 1 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." Plax
Most of what I've seen from there is Cretaceous Peedee formation. Could be whale also of course. Really weird finding obviously cretaceous fossils (exogyra etc.) with modern coral and other epibionts attached. Might be a smidge of Waccamaw Formation getting sucked into the pipe as well.

Plax
lower left of pic 7 resembles part of a plesiosaur vert. If so them Peedee formation and it should be very hard and heavy. The whale material there is lighter and crumbly. Not saying it's either just pointing out the possibilities. You might take it by the Shell and Fossil Show this Sunday at Oak Island for folks there to ID if possible. 1
