Thanks for accepting me into the group. Do you have any information on this sea biscuit that came from Holden Beach, NC? Thanks so much

Hardouinia, Upper Cretaceous.  Locals can drop more knowledge on this.

Welcome to the Forum!

Nice find!  We need a side view that shows the opening, as the shape of that opening distinguishes between the two species of Hardouinia in your area.

Hardouinia mortonis.  Cretaceous aged from the offshore dredging they're doing there

I could not find this listed so I thought it did not post. I posted about it again. It will be fine if an admin wants to get rid of the second one. So sorry. So what would the age be out these? Roughly.

Late Cretaceous.

Somewhere between about 100 and 66 million years old.

CEEDFC43-2BC2-4123-81D0-C05C8A5BA714.thumb.jpeg.4dcd58c7c7f0107da09c05ac9d8f5140.jpegI am vacationing at Holden Beach right now.  These are *everywhere* on the beach, often outnumbering shells.  One could walk a quarter mile with a basket and pick up a hundred in 10 minutes.  I’ve been vacationing here every year for 25 years, and these are new.  As mentioned, some dredging must have uncovered a huge buried area of them.  Really amazing.
