We took the family out for a day trip to Big Brook today and among many sharks teeth and squid pens, we found this interesting thing. My first thought was corprolite but it has cracks and structure? Idk any help would be great!

Ironstone concretion. The creeks are full of them.

I agree. Tons of them in the creeks in my area as well.

Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!

We found a lot more little teeth but let the everyone in the group (including grandparents) pick the 5 best and left the rest on the bench by the entry for other less patient hunters (or ones with too large screens to capture the little teeth). Kids were also fascinated by a sucking little lamprey eel that grandpa caught to show them.

Oh that one is questionable. My young son is convinced it’s a Mosasaur or deinosuchus tooth. It does have the tooth-like striations but I’m not convinced entirely. I’ll take more pictures when we get home from Easter dinner with the family.
