This is from the Missouri riverbank side of the Mississippi River channel that cuts right between West Alton/Stl. Louis county Mo, and Aton IL The Great River Road that runs through Grafton Il.

It looks like chalcedony replaced and eroded bivalves, or brachiopods, or corals(?) in varying angles of cross section.
