Paleorunner
I don't know if it's some kind of solitary coral, or what it could be. The seller only attaches this photo, and in his sales comment he says that he does not know what it is, or where it comes from. Can someone recognize it? I'm waiting for a response from the seller to know the size. Edited April 25, 2022 by Paleorunner
FranzBernhard
With this pic, a rudist is also not completely impossible, but coral is more likely. Are these sepata of a coral (very probable) or remnants of the canal system of the upper valve of a hippuritid rudist (nor very probable)? Tidgy's Dad
Hello, Salvador, my friend. Yes, I would think that coral is the most likely here. 1 Life's Good! Tortoise Friend.
Paleorunner
@FranzBernhard @fossilhunter21 @Tidgy's Dad That was my first thought, but not even knowing the size, I didn't trust what I was seeing. Thank you very much everyone for the responses. And also a cordial greeting. Wow, the seller could have put something, even a coin. Tidgy's Dad
Very nice. Obviously it's a solitary rugose horn coral, though I don't know which one. It seems slightly spinose like Lophophyllidium, but I don't think it is that genus. 1 Life's Good! Tortoise Friend.

A pity not knowing where it comes from, without knowing how old it is, it will be more difficult to name it. But at least for now I know I have a solitary horn coral.

I insisted on asking the seller about the origin, and he has told me that all the fossils he has for sale are from Morocco, but we still don't know the age.
