renfossil
Found on Brighton Beach in England. Salt Water, cold. The whole stone is about 8cm across and main circular shape has about 3cm diameter. It looks like it goes through the stone which is what was confusing me. Thanks Edited May 3, 2022 by renfossil
Tidgy's Dad
Yes, it's a solitary coral. Sea anemones are soft bodied organisms and almost never preserve as fossils. 1 1 Life's Good! Tortoise Friend.
TqB
It does resemble a coral but I think that the structure shows a sponge wall rather than radiating septa. 1 Tarquin
abyssunder
I agree with Tarquin. It looks like a sponge, possibly in flint/chert or similar.
