Jubs
Hi, my daughter is into gems, fossils crystal. So we have been getting into it too. A few years ago in Canada we came across an antique shop where we bought a Megladon tooth as the owner was a prospector by trade and said he had found it in North Carolina. No certification but looks cool. It is small weighs about 3.3 oz. I was wondering if anyone can tell if it is real or a fake? Thanks for your help! Rockwood
It's unlikely that a tooth in this condition would have been faked.
FranzBernhard
Welcome to TFF from Austria! As already said, the tooth is nice, but not in the best condition and also not very large. I can not think, someone is faking such a tooth. Being not perfect, its a nice starter tooth of a famous-infamous fossil species ! Ludwigia
I agree with the others and would add a side note. "Certification" in the case of most fossils has hardly any value at all since anyone can write up these things. 1 Greetings from the Lake of Constance. Tidgy's Dad
Yup, it's real. maybe not the best quality, but I would be happy to have it in my collection. Life's Good! Tortoise Friend.
mr.cheese
Yep its real, I buy and sell a lot of these exactly the same. Pretty much a must have item in any collection and a great starter fossil to get the imagination flowing too!
