schwankeeed
Hyachi!! What have I found?? I thought a rock that somewhat resembled the head and mouth of a shark. Thought that was kinda meat. So I washed it off a bit. And studied the rock awhile longer.
Mark Kmiecik
There appear to be some fossils of something in this rock, but it is definitely not a shark's head. The parts of a shark that are most commonly, and most easily preserved, are the "hard" parts like teeth and vertebrae. If the teeth are not present, the possibility that skin and cartilage have been preserved is zero, zip, nada. Eyeballs are 99% water, which does not fossilize. Eyes are only fossilized as a flat stain or an empty orbit -- never as a three-dimensional object. We would need close-up photos of the other areas of this stone to identify the fossils present. Mark. Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!
